OBHOA is conducting our bi-annual review of Outer Banks governments. This includes all community & public services. The findings from these reviews allow us to direct our governmental steering committee (OBHOA-GSC). This is the time for all members to provide direction on potential issues. It is important to let us know where OBHOA should show support, or push for change.
Issues large and small are monitored. We often overlook how simple public services impact our members and their guests. OBHOA recognizes policy, programs, government officers, elected officials, and individuals in emergency / public services. The reviews seek out input on individuals that should be recognized for exemplary work, or possibly a performance review.
Property owners that live primarily out of town are typically limited in their ability to influence local government. Many local residents are very aware to the importance in supporting the needs of out of town owners, and their guests. OBHOA leverages the sentiment of our out of town members into the vote of local residents. We let the local population know when government policies are in conflict with our members as a whole.
